Waiting*

Words by ISSAY

Music By DER ZIBET, Arranged by DER ZIBET & AKIRA NISHIHIRA

Japanese

いつからか  僕は ここにいた
とどまりの中で ねむり続け
人は僕のわきを通り過ぎた
風も僕のわきを通り過ぎた

夢? 絶望? それとも 希望?

I wait for you…
I’m just waiting for you

さまざまな 時が 通り過ぎた
さまざまな 夢が 通り過ぎた
ゆらゆらと 影は 踊り続け
僕は  ただ無防備で  立ちすくむ

ただ ここで 待って いたい

I wait for you…
I’m just waiting for you

Hito wa boku no waki wo toorisugita            Kaze mo boku no waki wo toorisugita

Yume? Zetsubou? Soretomo kibou?

I wait for you…
I’m just waiting for you

Samazama na Toki ga Toorisugita
Samazama na Yume ga Toorisugita
Yurayura to Kage wa Odori tsudzuke
Boku wa Tada muboubi de Tachi sukumu

Tada Kokode Matte  itai

I wait for you…
I’m just waiting for you

English

I’ve been here since some time ago
Staying here, sleeping in a standstill
People pass me by
The wind passes me by too

Dreams? Despair? Or is it hope?

I wait for you…
I’m just waiting for you

A plethora of times pass me by
A plethora of dreams pass me by
Flickering shadows keep dancing
While I simply stand defenseless

I just want to stand here and wait

I wait for you…
I’m just waiting for you

Notes:

*  I considered keeping the title’s original phrasing (~の歌, “Song of ~” or “~ Song”) and using “anticipation” rather than “wait” due to the existence of the “expectation” nuance in the Japanese term of 待つ, but the more I think about it the less it made sense. Keeping the “Song of ~” or “~ Song” phrasing also makes the title sound rather awkward, it doesn’t really flow well in English.
